28 Weeks and the size of an eggplant

Week 28 - Due April 16

Size of baby: Little Jonathan is now 1.5 to 2.5 pounds and is 13.6 to 14.8 inches long. He's starting to look less like a pruny old man because fat will smooth out those wrinkles. Maybe we need to get him some wrinkle cream!

Movement: He moves all the time! It's been really cool to watch my belly change shapes while I assume he totally rearranges himself. Lots of people put their hands on my belly to try to feel him move, but he seems to have a bit of stage fright. Rick felt him do some major flipping the other night and kept asking if that was me moving. Nope!

Sleep: Let the funky dreams begin! I've always had weird dreams, but now it's been taken to a whole new level. My hips ache, and I find myself waking up in pain a lot when I accidentally roll over on my stomach. Or when I roll over and Rick's shoved a pillow in my face. Pregnancy is hard on a stomach sleeper.

Cravings: I've been pretty good the whole pregnancy about not craving anything too outrageous. I definitely love my coffee cake in the morning and when I put the Cocoa Butter lotion on my stomach, I want chocolate.

Symptoms: Is there a symptom called "I hate my wardrobe?" The belly has really popped out since Christmas, and my shirts are snug! Maternity clothes really are my best friend as I get further along. I've probably got the same complaints as other pregnant women: backaches, lots of fatigue, having to go to the bathroom every two seconds.

Rick and I spent all day yesterday registering at Babies R Us and Target. Phew! I thought registering for our wedding was exhausting, but try doing it seven months pregnant, and it creates a whole new definition of tired. I still have to register at Wal-Mart, since there are no Targets anywhere near us, but I think that can wait for a bit.

Jonathan will be all set to go when he gets here! We did have fun looking at all the cute baby things and imagining that in less than three months, we will have a son to use them.

Man, our weeks are so busy, I can't even think right now of all the things we did last week! Rick is busy getting ready for lots of youth activities in February, and I've got a bunch of special sections that I've been writing. Ready for an extra long weekend!
